Beechworth is a charming high country town known for its architecture, honey and gold-rush history. With some two dozen boutique winemakers it is fast becoming a prominent regional destination for food and wine lovers. Looking for a charming cottage? Then look no further than The French Cottage Beechworth.
The owners discovered the cottage one weekend whilst at home in Melbourne – falling in love with it, that day they drove to Beechworth and purchased the home on the spot. When you know, you know!
The cottage dates back to the 1850s and was a former stagehouse. After purchasing the home the owners undertook a renovation to lighten and brighten the space. The old world charm and bones of the cottage have been retained and are now presented in a contemporary and paired back format. The result is a lovely light filled space with handpicked furnishings. The owners’ love of vintage finds and collectables is evident throughout the home.
The home features three bedrooms and two bathrooms – all of the bedrooms have queen-sized beds so it’s perfect for couples or a group looking to get away. The open plan kitchen and dining area is great for socialising – pick up some lovely local produce and enjoy a few relaxing evenings with great company.
However, what really seals the deal is the manicured French garden and enchanting wrap-around, verdant verandah. Enjoy some wonderful King Valley sparkling and sample some of the delightful Milawa High Country cheese. The perfect afternoon if you ask us!
Located close to Lake Sambell the home provides peace and quiet yet is only a short stroll to the centre of Beechworth.
Enjoy this charming three bedroom delight!
