Are you looking for a place with charm, history and a good story to tell? Then I think we’ve found the perfect spot – Ned Kelly’s Marlo Cottage. This is not just any charming cottage, this is the one where the photographer J.E. Bray took portraits of the infamous Ned Kelly Gang.
The cottage has been beautifully restored and furnished for your comfort. With three well appointed queen-sized bedrooms there’s plenty of room for a group of 6 people. Both of the cottage’s two bathrooms have been modernised – with a bathtub in the master bathroom.
The home has real charm to it. The owners are collectors at heart and have filled the cottage with antiques, collector pieces and lovely vintage finds. There’s also the occasional Ned Kelly collectible to remind you of the home’s historic roots.
Respect has been paid to the home to retain the character. The vintage fireplaces in the living room, kitchen and bedroom bring a wonderful old world charm to the home. The living room fireplace has been conveniently converted to a gas fireplace for cosy evenings.
You’ll find a practical and fully equipped kitchen which is perfect for a social evening in. Though, if you’re looking to venture out the cottage is centrally located and Beechworth has some great cellar doors, restaurants and pubs to enjoy.
For a gourmet dining experience, consider making a reservation at Provenance. The dining room has been continually recognised by The Age Good Food Guide and in 2019 was No. 30 in the Gourmet Traveller Top 100 Australian Restaurants. AND at only 120m away from the house, you’ll have no problem getting home!
Enjoy this centrally located, historic gem of a cottage.
