This home provides a modern take on Bali living. The home is designed and owned by a renowned Spanish architect. It oozes charm, sophistication and coziness. With 6 bedrooms split over two levels and two main wings - there's certainly space for all. The crown jewel though is the 60m long horizon pool providing unobstructed views over lush tropical jungle and rice paddies. Step inside this gem and for a moment leave the world behind.

Canggu, Bali

6 BEDROOMS | 6 BATHROOMS

A wonderful family home and Six Bedroom Villa in Canggu

Owned by a renowned Spanish architect, this Six bedroom Villa in Canggu is one part art gallery, two parts escapism, wrapped in what feels like a beautiful and well loved home - it's the perfect balance

The pool spans 60m, providing tranquil water views from the main living zone of the home and the upstairs balcony area

As we arrive we are greeted by the owner and host. The owner provides a cheerful Spanish welcome however she’s unable to shake our hand – she’s in the middle of a painting session with her daughter. Covered in paint I say hello from a distance. It’s this creative passion that oozes throughout the home. The entrance is adorned with artefacts, antiques and lovely vivid paintings. It’s not your typical “bali villa” – this is modern and a clearly loved home.

The Canggu villa comprises of 6 bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms. The media room can also be used as a 7th bedroom, suitable for two children. The host mentions typically guests utilise the five main bedrooms. “The smaller bedroom is used for any accompanying staff,” letting me in on some of the celebrities that have called this residence home.  “No shortage of staff,” I added.

However I felt for us mere mortals the 6th bedroom was more than adequate for an additional guest. Unless you’re Beyoncé (hint, hint)

The home is straddled by a green-zone providing uninterrupted rice paddy and jungle views

The entrance is adorned by the owner’s artwork, as a painter you can feel her eccentricity and creative energy throughout the house

The second floor hallway connects the master bedroom to two other bedrooms and the media room

The master bedroom also has a private terrace looking over the pool and rice paddies (perfect spot for sunsets)

It's this creative passion that oozes throughout this six bedroom Canggu villa...this is modern and much loved tropical living

The master bathroom equipped with bathtub and twin shower – there’s no shortage of colour and artwork even in the ensuite

The guest bedrooms have a light and welcoming feel – the daybeds look out over beautiful green spaces, providing the perfect spot to read and relax

The master bedroom hosts a big comfortable bed and private outdoor sitting area

The expansive residence is set on approximately 950sqm of land. The footprint is quite large with the dwelling measuring 100m long. The villa occupies two levels with rooms and living areas split over two wings, connected along open air corridors that provide wonderful unabated rice paddy views.

The modernist style features large expansive, black-framed windows throughout. The home really takes advantage of the beautiful, protected tropical views. The use of small-brick internal walls (painted white to blend well with the rest of the house) provides a blended rustic feel; a nice balance to the modern design profile. The artwork and artefacts provide colour and comfort to the rooms and spaces.

The positioning of the home provides wonderful lush tropical views over a protected green zone

The bedrooms are all very cozy; large comfortable bedrooms, colourful art and comfortable daybeds with abundant views make the rooms all very inviting.

Stepping through the house I was really impressed with the flow and practicality. The villa features a number of lovely social spaces: from a gorgeous dining room with an oversized rectangular dining table, ground floor living area and upstairs media room and several outdoor spaces including an outdoor living zone overlooking the tranquil 60m horizon swimming pool.

This six bedroom villa is positioned in a quieter part of Canggu – if you’re looking for peace and quiet and happy with a short car trip to the main amenities then this is the perfect spot. Though with a home like this I don’t think we’re in a rush to go anywhere. Enjoy.

Rates are from USD 982++ per night for 10 guests. Up to 14 guests can stay.

Semi-open sitting area and entrance to the master bedroom

The upstairs media room (in addition to the downstairs lounge area) provides a perfect retreat or doubling as a 7th bedroom for the kids

Outdoor lounge looking over the gorgeous 60m horizon pool and tropical rice paddies

Downstairs lounge provides a perfect adults retreat or perfect air-conditioned space to get some respite from a warm tropical evening

The home occupies 950sqm and spans approximately 100m. As you can see the horizon pool stretches almost the expanse of the property. Occupying two levels with two connected wings the home provides an abundance of space for groups and families looking for a social holiday but craving enough space to provide comfort for all guests
